after running into a couple speed bumps with my blend shapes last week, i seem to have final figured it out. as they always say, eighth times the charm.
edit: paint weights for the jacket are not on board with the idea that they are supposed to work. looking into wire deformers and blendshaping the jacket instead.

ii. reese facial rig update
iii. issues to address
1. paint weights in shoulder are still a little wonky
2. pockets and buttons do not deform properly in line with the jacket
3. blend shapes cause the rig to disconnect
EDIT: Will look into old version of advanced skeleton as suggested

PUDDLE JUMPER (WT)
MAGICAL REALISM
Logline: A young girl’s walk home takes a magical turn when her imagination takes over.
- Opening Image: Bright red rainboots chilling in a puddle. The sidewalk is obviously wet, it has just finished raining. The puddle is still slightly wiggly because the splashing has just recently finished. Boots step out of the puddle and begin to journey down the damp sidewalk.
- Theme Stated: At the next puddle, girl pauses before jumping.
- Theme: Not everything is what it seems. Or, there is magic even in the most boring of places.
- Set-up: Something curious has caught her eye as she prepares to jump.
- Catalyst: The puddle is full of fish.
- Debate: What the heck is going on in that puddle?
- Break Into Two: She decides to investigate further.
- B-Story: N/A
- Fun and Games: She grabs a rock to test the puddle.
- Midpoint (high?): The rock turns into another fish.
- Bad Guys Close In: But what if she goes into the puddle instead of just a rock?
- All Is Lost (low?): Is the risk worth it, to see what she will become?
- Dark Night of the Soul: Second guessing ensues.
- Break Into Three: She takes the literal leap into the puddle and falls right through the nothingness.
- Finale: As the water settles, a small twig twists up and out and turns into a tree.
- Final Image: Camera zooms out to reveal the scope of this small tree growing on a city sidewalk. It is a spark of color and life in a mechanic monotony.
